Overview

Basement Finishing on the Jersey shore.

A finished basement is the cheapest square footage you'll ever add to your home — if it's done right. We finish basements across Ocean and Monmouth County with moisture-aware wall assemblies, proper egress, recessed lighting plans, and finish-grade flooring and trim. The end result is a real living space — family room, home gym, in-law suite, or rental unit — not a damp drywalled box.

What sets this work apart

The four pillars.

01

Moisture-aware wall assemblies

Foam-board insulation against foundation walls, then stud and insulate — keeping the wood off the cold concrete so moisture never has a chance to mildew the framing.

02

Real lighting plans

Recessed lighting laid out on a real plan — not eight cans randomly clustered. Dimmable LED on multiple zones makes a basement feel like a main-floor space.

03

Code-compliant egress

Egress window installs and basement-bedroom code compliance handled the right way — we cut, frame, waterproof, and install the egress system as part of the scope.

04

Bathrooms, bars & rec rooms

Full basement baths with up-flush plumbing where needed, wet bars, theater rooms, home gyms, and rental-grade kitchenettes.

FAQ

Common questions about basement finishing.

How much does it cost to finish a basement?+

Most basement finishes at the shore run $45–$90 per finished square foot depending on bathroom, wet bar, and egress requirements.

How long does a basement finish take?+

Typical 800–1,400 sf basement finish runs 4–6 weeks from demo to punch.

What about moisture and humidity?+

We address moisture before framing — interior perimeter drainage if needed, foam-board insulation against the foundation, and dehumidification rough-in. We don't finish over a wet basement.

Can you add a bathroom in the basement?+

Yes — either by tying into existing slab plumbing (cleanest) or by installing an up-flush system (Saniflo) when the slab can't be cut.

Do I need egress windows?+

If you're adding a bedroom in the basement, yes — required by code. We handle the cut, well, window, and waterproofing as part of the scope.
